Egocentric is an ode to Adam Roose's commitment to self and creating a way in paving his own success through self reliance. The record's mid tempo creates the mood and emotion that he sought to convey while having just enough bounce in the kicks and snares to make it impossible not to bob your head uncontrollably. The video itself captures angles that emphasize the egocentricity Adam Roose and compliment the tone of the song and album alike. Stars like Tiesto and Avicii command payments in the area of $350,000 to $500,000 for an evening of their time. Therefore we knew it was only a matter of time until the lyricists got into the EDM game in a big way. A lyricist/producer that is certainly pushing the boundaries between Hip Hop,R+B, and EDM is Bay Area born Joey Coltrane. At the ripe age of 21 Joey has clearly been digesting Hip Hop, EDM, Rock and classical for quite a while and has created a breakthrough release with his current project called "Something Different". Joey who started playing the piano at 5, and eventually graduated to guitar was heavily influenced by the likes of John Frusciante and Jimi Hendrix. as well as Bay Area hip hop artists such as Mac Dre and Andre Nickatina. This eclectic collage of sound clearly informed the audio aesthetic on "Something Different". On tracks like "Kill The Dragon" and "Ketchup", Mr. Coltrane clearly is testing the limits of what are generally known as Hip Hop and EDM. "Something Different" creates a vision of what mainstream music may sound like in 2014 and beyond. After the November 2013, release of "Something Different" Joey has been on a rockets trajectory to a radio station or streaming platform near you having received industry and critical acclaim for his debut effort. So whats next for the rising star? Of course a sophomore effort which Joey is currently wrapping up entitled Alter Egos which is set to be released in March of 2014. If you are a fan of 2Pac, Biggie, Daft Punk, Steve Aoki or Miley Cyrus, check out Joey Coltrane to hear "Something Different".
Listen on SoundCloud

Listen on SoundCloud

Listen on SoundCloud
29251Joey Coltrane, EDM, Hip Hop, R+B, Music, MIley Cyrus, Kool Herc, David Mancuso, Lil Wayneblogs/1-2014/29251-blackstar-joey-coltra-s.jpgMike Wallz "DREAMS" Ft Tabi Bonney (VIDEO PREMIERE)http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-mike-wallz-tabi-bonney-dreams/features/blogs/blackstar-mike-wallz-tabi-bonney-dreams/Posted by blackstar0http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-mike-wallz-tabi-bonney-dreams/#commentsMon, 28 Oct 2013 23:49 GMTFor this latest Black Vibes premiere, we introduce to you an up and coming talent by the name of Mike Wallz. The joint is infectious and vibes nice with Navaeh Clark on the hook. Wallz was formerly the front man for the group Primary Element and a Division One Football player at Penn State before being taken out of the game by an injury. With his former group he toured with artists like icon MC Lyte and Mac Miller. It seems Wallz dreams big and goes for it in whatever he's doing.25611Tabi Bonney, Mike Wallz, Hip Hop, R+B, music, The Layoverblogs/10-2013/25611-tabi-bonney-mike-wall-s.jpgJustin Anthony's "Holy Grail" (Reggae Remix)http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-justin-anthony-jay-z-justin-timberlake-hiphop-music-rb-holy/features/blogs/blackstar-justin-anthony-jay-z-justin-timberlake-hiphop-music-rb-holy/Posted by blackstar0http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-justin-anthony-jay-z-justin-timberlake-hiphop-music-rb-holy/#commentsTue, 17 Sep 2013 21:31 GMTRising Hip Hop and Reggae artist Justin Anthony has released his version of the Jay Z and Justin Timberlake summer anthem "Holt Grail". This unique version of the track has been gaining momentum online over the last few days since its online release a few days ago. Justin was born in Florida, adopted by loving parents and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He now lives in Miami. "Staying strong and following my dreams has allowed me to let my voice be heard by the world," he said. His influences range from Bob Marley to Buju Banton to Michael Jackson to Eric Clapton to Tupac Shakur. About his cover, he told us, "We were in the studio working on my album. I was just messing around and started rapping to 'Holy Grail' about Snoop Dogg being on my single 'Good Luv' in my own words and BlackOut was like 'Yo, we've got to record that!' Once we heard the recorded track, we went and shot the video two days later. I think this cover is really going to give my fans a taste of the vibe that we have going on in the studio right now: a little singing, a little rapping. It's a nice blend. The new album is going to be something new and refreshing; we are all really excited about it!" Justin Anthony is currently in the studio with Grammy Winning Producer Winston "BlackOut" Thomas. He is putting the final touches on his debut album slated for a January 2014 release. Enjoy his "Holy Grail."
Watch Video on YouTube
24785Justin Anthony Jay Z Justin Timberlake Hiphop music R+B Holy Grailblogs/9-2013/24785-justin-anthony-jay-z--s.jpgScotty The Kid drops HOT new video for "Burn" !http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-scotty-kid-burn-california-skater/features/blogs/blackstar-scotty-kid-burn-california-skater/Posted by blackstar0http://www.blackvibes.com/features/blogs/blackstar-scotty-kid-burn-california-skater/#commentsFri, 30 Aug 2013 19:49 GMTUp and coming LA based rapper Scotty The Kid has released his highly anticipated video for his latest single "Burn".
