As one third of Northwest Atlanta's Dynamic Trio, Jimmy With An H, HicksBoi4Real is known to bring the energy needed to take things to next level. His solo effort is not a departure from Jimmy Wit An H but his journey into expanding his artistry.

Born, Naijee Hicks, HicksBoi4Real moved to Atlanta at the young age of 3. There, he immersed himself in Atlanta's rich and vibrant hip hop culture. While in high school, he met up with TJ "Jxmmy" King and formed the group Jimmy With An H. Soon thereafter, the group caught the eye of music industry legend, Neal Pogue who quickly signed them to his company, Fulton Yard Unlimited.

Under Neal's watchful eye, HicksBoi4Real has honed his craft. Influenced by artists such as Lil Wayne, T.I., Drake and others and with the support of his bandmates, he presents his first solo effort, a mixtape called, "The Youngest OG". The single off the mixtape "Run Up a Check" is quickly growing in popularity. HicksBoi4Real has been performing all over the Southeast Region including Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. His momentum is growing.

Philly What inspires you to make music? Truth. When I look deep inside about why I give everything in my being to this crazy ass path, it's because I hope to wake people up to enjoy the ride, not take themselves too seriously and take risks. We only got one movie. My music is the soundtrack to my adventures and views. That voice is worth giving everything. It's either that or I have a chronic talking problem that only music can cure. Who are your musical influences? Jay Z. Bob Marley. David Lee Roth. Beastie Boys. Animal mating calls. What is your mission in Hip Hop? To poke fun at society, I'm a satirist in some ways. I plan to play the game as a conscious capitalist while mocking the fact that I'm doing it. If this was about making money, I woulda stayed on Wall Street. It ain't about broads, been scoopin those since kindergarten. Do my fair share on those fronts but everyone who knows me knows I only care about speaking my mind. I got some shit I just gotta say. What makes you different than other artists? Hip hop's first dude pimp. One and only Coley baby. Check my shit and it's self explanatory. I do dunk flips playa. What inspired this song/video? The bro code. There is a way to conduct yourself in the game that keeps it real with your own interests while also helping your bros get what they want. When it comes to business and women you gotta follow the code. When I oop you a biz opp or tee up a jammy, I know you'll dunk it correctly and vice versa. Nash economics = those who play together, win together. It's the hustlers' anthem and to have the OG hustler Bun B cosign the record was a blessing. It was incredible working with him. What other projects are you working on? I have 2 albums in the can, one mastered to be released soon and the other in the mixing phase. Have 3 more music videos in the can and shooting more monthly. We start dropping ish regularly starting with "Alley Oop" featuring Bun B. I also own my label Revel Music Group and fund everything myself. We signed our first artist to Sony and are vertically integrated with publishing and concert divisions and an in-house production team. It's a 100 hour week hustle running everything but I've built a dream team, and we plan to body shit step by step. What's next for you as an artist? Keep growing and making crazier shit. What still surprises you about Hip Hop? It's rise in cultural stature. Hip hop went from a fun activity in the basement to a billionaire dollar market with visionary artists that are today's pop stars. Rappers are involved in political campaigns and have a huge social effect. It's awesome. At its core it's poetry and a gift with words. After an utter #fail of an attempt at dealing with a real winter two weeks ago, Atlanta got another crack at it this week. During the previous storm, thousands of commuters along the city's highways couldn't get home because of icy conditions, forcing many to abandon their vehicles and walk. Others stuck it out and spent as much as 14 hours in the car trying to move from the city's center back to the burbs. At least 13 people died in the last ice storm in the deep south. But unlike last time, the government asked individuals to stay home to avoid having so many people on the road, and to avoid post-apocalyptic scenes straight out of the Walking Dead. Now usually Atlanta has one of the worst commutes in the country, but since many ATLiens got to stay home, they had a little more free time than they are used to. And from what we could tell on Twitter, a lot of Atlanta took that time to#NaeNae away their snow day sorrows to the sounds of up and coming MC BLVD Marc and his new single "Fumble". Joey Coltrane arrives with "Something Different"

The worlds of Hip Hop and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) have been on a crash course ever since David Mancuso and Kool Herc both created their respective genres a few blocks away from each other on a little island called Manhattan.In todays new wave age of DYI home studio production and globalization, these two seemingly divergent genres have reconnected and accelerated the rise of the DJ to an almost fever pitch. Stars like Tiesto and Avicii command payments in the area of $350,000 to $500,000 for an evening of their time. Therefore we knew it was only a matter of time until the lyricists got into the EDM game in a big way. A lyricist/producer that is certainly pushing the boundaries between Hip Hop,R+B, and EDM is Bay Area born Joey Coltrane. At the ripe age of 21 Joey has clearly been digesting Hip Hop, EDM, Rock and classical for quite a while and has created a breakthrough release with his current project called "Something Different". Joey who started playing the piano at 5, and eventually graduated to guitar was heavily influenced by the likes of John Frusciante and Jimi Hendrix. as well as Bay Area hip hop artists such as Mac Dre and Andre Nickatina. This eclectic collage of sound clearly informed the audio aesthetic on "Something Different". On tracks like "Kill The Dragon" and "Ketchup", Mr. Coltrane clearly is testing the limits of what are generally known as Hip Hop and EDM. "Something Different" creates a vision of what mainstream music may sound like in 2014 and beyond. After the November 2013, release of "Something Different" Joey has been on a rockets trajectory to a radio station or streaming platform near you having received industry and critical acclaim for his debut effort. So whats next for the rising star? Of course a sophomore effort which Joey is currently wrapping up entitled Alter Egos which is set to be released in March of 2014. The Penn State football player turned emcee was first heard as the frontman of the group Primary Element, but is now out to shine for dolo. Mike Wallz has "Dreams" and he's joined by Tabi Bonney on this KILLAKAKE produced track from the forthcoming EP to tell you all about them. The joint is infectious and vibes nice with Navaeh Clark on the hook. Wallz was formerly the front man for the group Primary Element and a Division One Football player at Penn State before being taken out of the game by an injury. With his former group he toured with artists like icon MC Lyte and Mac Miller. It seems Wallz dreams big and goes for it in whatever he's doing.

Rising Hip Hop and Reggae artist Justin Anthony has released his version of the Jay Z and Justin Timberlake summer anthem "Holt Grail". This unique version of the track has been gaining momentum online over the last few days since its online release a few days ago. Justin was born in Florida, adopted by loving parents and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He now lives in Miami. "Staying strong and following my dreams has allowed me to let my voice be heard by the world," he said. His influences range from Bob Marley to Buju Banton to Michael Jackson to Eric Clapton to Tupac Shakur. About his cover, he told us, "We were in the studio working on my album. I was just messing around and started rapping to 'Holy Grail' about Snoop Dogg being on my single 'Good Luv' in my own words and BlackOut was like 'Yo, we've got to record that!' Once we heard the recorded track, we went and shot the video two days later. I think this cover is really going to give my fans a taste of the vibe that we have going on in the studio right now: a little singing, a little rapping. It's a nice blend. The new album is going to be something new and refreshing; we are all really excited about it!" Justin Anthony is currently in the studio with Grammy Winning Producer Winston "BlackOut" Thomas.
