Scenario: Gerald has been asking Melinda out for Months but each time to no avail, he seem to be a nice guy with no serious baggage, she has been through the ringer in her past relationship and was very guarded. After consulting with several close family members, she decided to go out with Gerald for breakfast, during breakfast Melinda ordered the Grand Slam French toast meal and because Gerald was not big on breakfast he ordered one pancake, which was 2 dollars. When the bill came out, Melinda offered to pay with her credit card, Gerald declined to let her pay and they ended up going dutch. What your thoughts after reading to this scenario? Here are some perspectives from others and feel free to chime in (Male) "Okay I agree a man should pay if he ask a woman on a date , but do women agree she should give it up if she accepts the date??? A lot of women like to mislead or get free meals, not all, just saying." Female perspective: "Maybe men don't appreciate what goes into dating for a woman, we could be at home in sweats watching the Golden Girls eating ice cream. But instead, we get dolled up, we hold our burps and farts until we are ready to explode, we wear uncomfortable shoes and etc, we lose when it doesn't work out too, we lose our time, energy and money too." Male perspective Could it be that you think I ��m too harsh in my stance when it comes to dating? I just don ��t settle. Getting dolled when it comes to dating is the reason women give so they are deemed worthy of having a man pay for them as if men are just there to pay. I just don ��t care to pay for good looking person who has invested nothing other than a few hours of prepping and getting dolled up. Addiction means always having to say you are sorry and finally, when being sorry is no longer good enough for others who have been repeatedly hurt by the addiction, addiction often means being sorry all alone. Addiction is often said to be a disease of denial but it is also a disease of regret. When the addictive process has lasted long enough and penetrated deeply enough into the life and mind of the addict, the empty space left by the losses caused by progressive, destructive addiction is filled up with regrets, if-onlys and could-have-beens. In early addiction the addict tends to live in the future; in middle and late addiction he begins to dwell more and more in the past. And it is usually an unhappy past. The first casualty of addiction, like that of war, is the truth. At first the addict merely denies the truth to himself. But as the addiction, like a malignant tumor, slowly and progressively expands and invades more and more of the healthy tissue of his life and mind and world, the addict begins to deny the truth to others as well as to himself. He becomes a practiced and profligate liar in all matters related to the defense and preservation of his addiction, even though prior to the onset of his addictive illness, and often still in areas as yet untouched by the addiction, he may be scrupulously honest.
