ATLANTA, GA - Twitter has exploded with "RIP King Von" posts following reports the Chicago native was shot during an altercation in Atlanta, Georgia. On Friday (November 6), the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported gunfire erupted outside of the Monaco Hookah Lounge during a fight between two large groups of people.Two people were killed, one person, thought to be King Von, was rushed to the local hospital in critical condition and two others were injured but in stable condition.Shortly after the news broke, King Von's close friend and producer Chopsquad DJ confirmed the 26-year-old rapper succumbed to his injuries in an Instagram post."My heart can't take this," he captioned a photo of himself with Von. "No bro. Why you. Why bro. Just please FaceTime me bro. Why they had to take you. Ima see you again this shit ain't over. It's far from over. We still just getting started. RIP my Bestfriend. Two off-duty police officers, who were working security at the club, did shoot back but were not injured. "That physical altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire with those groups," Atlanta police Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said. "Two police officers who were working at that particular club, or lounge, noticed the altercation and engaged some of the people involved. There was an exchange of gunfire with police as well." The long-awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy's 1988 classic Coming To America officially has a release date.According to Variety, Amazon Studios has acquired Coming 2 America from Paramount Pictures in a deal reportedly worth $125 million. They've set the premiere for December 18. The movie revolves around Murphy's character Prince Akeem discovering he has a son in America just before he's about to become the king of Zamunda. Tory Lanez appeared before an L.A. County judge via telephone on Tuesday (October 13) for his first hearing regarding the Megan The Stallion shooting incident.The Canadian rapper was charged with felony assault last week and was supposed to have his initial arraignment Tuesday morning. But Lanez's attorney Shawn Holley asked for a continuance and it was granted. Therefore, Lanez didn't enter a guilty or not guilty plea.

Megan did score a small victory as a result of the hearing though. TMZ reports the judge issued a protective order against Lanez, which means he's now required to stay at least 100 yards away from Megan and have zero contact with her.Lanez bail was reportedly set at $190,000, which he'll be posting with a bondsman at the hearing. The protective order arrives on the same day Megan published an op-ed with the New York Times titled "Megan Thee Stallion: Why I Speak Up For Black Women." While she doesn't get too specific about what happened on July 12, the night the shooting occurred, she did explain why she was initially hesitant to identify Lanez as the triggerman."My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends," she wrote. "Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment. The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted." TMZ is reporting that the Miami State Attorney's Office has announced that they're going to be dropping the battery charge DaBaby was hit with after he was accused of being involved in the beating and robbery of Kenneth Carey in South Beach. According to the report one of the alleged victims of the jux refuses to cooperate with investigators, hence, the dropping of charges.But the Kirk rapper isn't out of the woods yet as police are still investigating the incident.Even though the battery charge has been tossed, cops are still investigating the alleged robbery of Carey ... so DaBaby could potentially be charged.That being said, DaBaby still also faces a monetary lawsuit as a result of the same offense.Carey sued DaBaby claiming DB and his crew beat him to a pulp and in the process jacked his phone, money and credit card over a business deal gone wrong. Yo Gotti's lawyers are attempting to have a $6.6 million default judgment against the rap star vacated.Yo Gotti's lawyers claim their client was never properly served with a lawsuit filed against him by Stack Money Empire and their artist Young Fletcher, who won the huge award in May. Young Fletcher and Stack Money Empire say they forked over $20,000 for an exclusive verse by Yo Gotti.But they never signed the proper agreements with Yo Gotti which would have allowed them to commercially release the verse Young Fletcher recorded.Instead of signing the paperwork, the CMG boss presented Young Fletcher with a deal of his own, worth $150,000. When Young Fletcher rebuffed the deal, Yo Gotti allegedly recorded the exact same verse in question for another track. Yo Gotti failed to respond to Young Fletcher and SME's lawsuit and as a result, he was smacked with a $6.6 million default judgment for engaging in unfair and deceptive trade practices. In the latest round of court action, Yo Gotti's lawyers say a member of Gotti's security who was not authorized to accept the legal paperwork on his behalf was the one who received the lawsuit, and he was never told to hand the documents over to the rapper.The rapper's lawyers also argued that Yo Gotti did not intentionally mean to defraud Young Fletcher of SME. They also say there was no reasonable justification for such a large verdict against Yo Gotti.The next court date over the matter is slated for June 24.

Kodak Black lost his patience with the Hot 97 host. Tempers flared during a recent interview between Kodak Black and Ebro, prompting the Dying To Live rapper to cut the conversation short. Though Kodak originally stopped by to discuss his upcoming album, the Hot 97 host closed the conversation by addressing Black's upcoming sexual assault trial. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hov withdrew his motion to stop the arbitration after receiving a commitment to diversity from the American Arbitration Association."While the information AAA provided has confirmed that AAA lacks an appreciable number of minority (and particularly, African-American) arbitrators, AAA has indicated an openness both to an arbitrator selection process in this Arbitration that will allow for meaningful consideration of African-American arbitrators and to broader remedial measures intended to improve the diversity of the arbitrator roster for future arbitrations," JAY-Z''s lawyers Alex Spiro wrote in a letter.JAY-Z and Iconix are engaged in a dispute over the Roc Nation logo. Iconix paid $204 million for Rocawear in 2007 and claims that some of Roc Nation''s intellectual property, such as the logo, were part of the deal. Iconix launched its lawsuit after Roc Nation released a line of New Era caps in partnership with Major League Baseball, prompting a countersuit from Roc Nation. The case was scheduled to go to arbitration before JAY-Z turned his attention to another matter in the proceedings.Hov took issue with the lack of diversity among the American Arbitration Association in a motion filed last month. JAY-Z''s attorney argued that his client was only provided with three potential black arbitrators, one of which had a conflict of interest with Iconix."When Mr. Carter began reviewing arbitrators on the AAA''s Search Platform, however, he was confronted with a stark reality: he could not identify a single African-American arbitrator on the ''Large and Complex Cases'' roster, composed of hundreds of arbitrators, that had the background and experience to preside over the Arbitration," Spiro wrote in the original petition. "After repeated requests to the AAA for diverse arbitrators with expertise in complex commercial law, the AAA was able to provide only three neutrals it identified as African-American: two men - one of whom was a partner at the law firm representing Iconix in this arbitration and thus had a glaringly obvious conflict of interest - and one woman."Although Iconix painted the complaint as a "charade," a New York judge granted JAY-Z''s motion for a temporary restraining order and put a halt to the case. Now that Hov has withdrawn the motion, the judge has scheduled a status conference in the case for March 2019.
