In February of this year, Young Dolph''s SUV was shot at over 100 times outside the annual CIAA event in Charlotte. His vehicle was luckily bulletproof, so nobody was harmed, but ever since, police have been pursuing suspects in the case. On Tuesday (May 16), fellow Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta surrendered to Charlotte authorities on charges related to the shooting.TMZ reports Youngsta, along with two other men, surrendered to police after warrants were issued for their arrest in the investigation of the shooting. Jail records show the rapper born Sammie Marquez Benson was charged with four counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property.Back in March, we hung out with Dolph after the shooting took place. When asked who he thought targeted him, he said, "I got no clue. I really don''t even give a damn. Like, to tell you the honest truth. I really don''t give a damn." He continued, "I come from the streets. I come from, like, this shit been happening. I been having haters, I''ve been having, I''ve been a target, know what I''m saying, to people that I intimidate, know what I''m saying? So, only thing that I can do is take this shit and keep going, know what I''m saying? And what I don'' figured out is like, the more I live, the bigger and greater I''ma get just because the person that I am, know what I''m saying? ARKANSAS THUNDER BASKETBALL TEAM TRYOUTS

Good Evening Parents:

My name is Coach Cain, the Coach of the Arkansas Thunder Basketball Team. We will hold tryouts on Sunday June 4 at the S.W Community Center from 3pm-6pm. There will be a registration fee of $5.00. To be eligible your child must be between the ages of 11-14 to play for my team. If your child is 14, they can't turn 15 before August 31st.

During Tryouts the players will be given a number to wear while conducting Drills and scrimmaging. Myself with Coach Victor and another Coach will evaluate each player and decide who will make the team.

There will be 12 Roster Spots filled for the team. Once your child is selected a fee of $250.00 will be due.

The $250.00 covers the fee to join the team, Nike Jersey and Shorts, A pair of Nike Basketball shoes, and a Nike Basketball backpack.

The team will be competing in tournaments all over the state and will do some traveling outside the state.

More information about the tournaments will be available at a later date.

Please bring a Copy of your sons Birth Certificate to the Tryouts also.

Kodak Black was found guilty of five counts of violating his house arrest in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday (April 26). His sentencing is scheduled for next week, May 4, and he''ll stay in jail for now.Judge Thomas M. Lynch made the ruling a little after 6 p.m. EST today. The ruling followed the third day of hearings for the 19-year-old Kodak, born Dieuson Octave. Prosecutors are seeking to give him a maximum of eight years behind bars for his violation.Kodak was given probation last August after facing a flew of serious charges. He got off relatively easy with one year of house arrest and five years probation, and he was allowed to leave home for work purposes approved by his corrections officer Sandra Friedman.During today''s hearing, testimony centered around allegations by a bartender named Jennifer Cunningham who works at Club Lexx. Cunningham claimed Kodak assaulted her when he was there in early February, and though witnesses in court today claimed she was drunk and bragging about grabbing his genitals, the problem remains that Kodak was at the strip club without pre-approval from Friedman. He was found not guilty of the battery charges.The sentence comes during what is arguably the most fruitful period of Kodak''s career so far. Weeks ago, he released his official major label debut album Painting Pictures, selling an impressive 71,000 copies first week. The lead single "Tunnel Vision" has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for over a month now. Kevin Gates can't catch a break. According to TMZ, Gates was reportedly sentenced to 30 months in jail for a weapons charge.On Wednesday (April 26), the "2 Phones" rapper pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge after his bail was denied earlier this month at a Bridgeview Courthouse hearing. Sources tell TMZ that the embattled MC will be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.In 2015, Gates allegedly kicked a female fan during a Florida concert. After he was charged with battery, he was found guilty and was sentenced to 180 days in prison. Gates was on the cusp of freedom last month after his sentence was trimmed down. As he was about to be released, cops spotted an outstanding weapons-related warrant in his files. Gates was arrested and sent back to jail.

A Mississippi man has filed lawsuit against R. Kelly, alleging the singer had an affair with his wife of five years.Kenny Bryant, a Hinds County Sheriff's Department deputy, said the Chicago-born crooner became involved in a romantic relationship with his spouse, Asia Childress, prior to the couple's July 15, 2012 wedding.In the court complaint filed April 21, Bryant added that the affair ensued in October of 2012, when Childress attended one of the singer's shows.According to WAPT, Bryant since agreed to his wife's request to relocate to Atlanta so she may "further her career" opportunities - which Bryant believes was really a motive to further the affair.

RACE ALLEGATIONS COST SESSIONS A JOB

Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions is preparing to face fresh scrutiny for a decades' old charge he made racially-charged comments while a US Attorney in his home state of Alabama.

The allegations cost him a job as a federal judge in 1986 and have the potential to sink his nomination to be attorney general under President-elect Donald Trump. To survive, he will need to carefully distance himself from the damaging charges and deftly manage how his Senate colleagues -- and the public -- react to them.

It won't be easy.

Many Democrats already are deeply disturbed by the allegations that Sessions may have called an African-American lawyer "boy" and accused the NAACP and ACLU of being "un-American." They promise to re-investigate the charges to determine if they are still relevant. But Democrats are equally concerned about fourth-term senator's current views on immigration and border control, which they consider strident and racially-biased.

They worry that in the sensitive post as the top law enforcement official in the country, Sessions may not treat all people equally under law and already some Democrats privately want to defeat him.

"While many of us have worked with Senator Sessions closely and know him to be a staunch advocate for his beliefs, the process will remain the same: a fair and complete review of the nominee. While Senator Sessions and I differ on a great many issues, I am committed to a full and fair process," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who will be the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee next year when it holds confirmation hearings for Sessions, who also sits on the committee.

In 2009, Sessions told CNN's Dana Bash that his 1986 confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee -- a contentious affair where he clashed repeatedly with Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and other Democrats -- was "really heartbreaking to me."

Visibly upset in the television interview, the earnest senator pleaded his case.

"That was not fair. That was not accurate. Those were false charges and distortions of anything that I did, and it really was not. I never had those kinds of views, and I was caricatured in a way that was not me," he said.

The question is whether Session's heartfelt appeal that he was a victim of wrongful allegations and not the perpetrator of racially-insensitive conduct can convince senators to confirm him. The haze of time and distance from the events may assist Sessions, especially with many of the players of the 1986 drama no longer in the Senate.

Political connections

Sessions' political ties to Trump and Senate Republican leaders could help him too. He's a fierce defender of the President-elect and was the first senator to endorse him. Trump said he could have any job he wanted -- and he mulled becoming secretary of defense before settling on AG.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, said he "strongly supports" the nomination and promised a swift confirmation process for him. Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, noting that Sessions was once the top Republican on the committee, said he is "confident he would be reported favorably out of the committee."

Also helping Sessions are the new Senate rules that will allow him to be confirmed with the support of just 51 senators, not the supermajority 60 that were required until recently. That means Republicans can confirm Sessions without any Democratic support.

Sessions, who will want to be confirmed with bipartisan support, will point Democrats to comments from the late Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, who in 1986 was one of only two GOP members of the Judiciary Committee to vote against Sessions' nomination to the federal bench. In 2009, as Specter was leaving the Republican Party and joining the Democratic caucus, he said he "regretted" that vote.

"Because I have found that Sen. Sessions is egalitarian," Specter told reporters.

Defending Sessions' record on civil rights issues, Trump spokesman Jason Miller noted Friday that Session had voted for a 30-year extension of the Civil Rights Act, had voted to confirm Eric Holder -- who is black -- as attorney general, and voted to give civil rights legend Rosa Parks the Congressional Gold Medal.

As an example of the Trump team readying for a battle, a public relations firm sent reporters pictures of Sessions attending the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday at the Edmund Pettus Bridge and holding hands with Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia. The release said the photos are 'Worth 1,000 words" and the Sessions' critics may not want the photos to be seen.

US rapper Bobby Shmurda has agreed to a plea deal on charges of conspiracy and possession of a weapon.Under the deal, he will face a minimum of seven years in prison to avoid going on trial on weapons and drugs charges.He had been accused of conspiring with a Brooklyn street gang involved in violent drug wars.Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, is best known for the hit song Hot Boy and the "Shmoney" dance which featured in one of his videos.The rapper has been in jail since late 2014, along with 15 other defendants who were accused of crimes including murder, attempted murder and drug dealing.

After a bizarre, hours-long standoff, L.A. police officers took Chris Brown into custody late Tuesday afternoon and said the singer would be arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.Lt. Chris Ramirez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, said officers were transporting Brown from his Tarzana home to downtown L.A., where he would be formally booked.

Police began searching Brown's sprawling property as they hunted for a weapon the performer is said to have used to threaten a woman. Shortly before 1 p.m., officers entered the residence after taking much of the morning to obtain a search warrant. TRYING TIMES IN BATON ROUGE AFTER ALTON STERLING KILLING

Four days after the police-involved shooting of Alton Sterling turned his city upside down, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Police officer Montrell Jackson issued a plea to the embattled community and vowed to do his part to help it heal.

"These are trying times. Please don't let hate infect your heart. This city MUST and WILL get better," the 32-year-old officer wrote in a July 8 Facebook post.

And, to all the protesters, officers, friends, family and neighbors in need of a hug or a prayer in Baton Rouge, he offered a promise: "I got you."

One week later, on Sunday, Jackson's life was cut short in a shootout that left three officers dead and three more injured, law enforcement said.

Jackson's aunt revealed his identity to CNN, simply saying "Today isn't going too well."

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's office identified the other deceased as Officer Matthew Gerald and Brad Garafola. Of the other officers involved in the shooting, Nicholas Tullier of the Uniform Patrol Traffic division was shot and is in critical condition. Bruce Simmons, who also worked in the traffic division, sustained non-life threatening injuries, the Sheriff's office reported.

The deadly standoff was the latest blow to a city plagued by tensions in the wake of Sterling's death. His July 5 death, followed by another police-involved shooting the same week in Minnesota, touched off demonstrations nationwide that have led to arrests and roadway closures.

'No place for more violence'

As Baton Rouge reels from the events that sent tremors throughout their community, city officials expressed their condolences, and made a call for peace.

"An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us," Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said Sunday. "Obviously our community is hurting, and only through peace can we heal, and that's going to take meaningful dialogue. There simply is no place for more violence."

"We are going to get through this and we are going to get through this together," Baton Rouge Chief of Police Carl Dabadie said at the same press conference. "This is not going to tarnish this city or this department. We are going to move forward."

Quinyetta McMillon, the mother of one of Sterling's son, Cameron, condemned the shootings.

"We reject violence of any kind directed at members of law enforcement or citizens." she said in a statement. "My hope is that one day soon we can come together and find solutions to the very important issues facing our nation rather than continuing to hurt one another."
