ALICIA KEYS Reduces Her Manager Jeff Robinson's Duties. He Doesn't Know "A Womans Worth".

Alicia Keys has sent her manager Jeff Robinson packing after working with him for over a decade. Key's publicist released this statement.

"Jeff Robinson, CEO of MBK Entertainment Inc., and 12 time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys have decided to change the structure of their business relationship. Robinson and Keys will continue to collaborate and produce future albums together through MBK/J Records while Alicia will now oversee all aspects of her own personal career. Keys and Robinson have been partners for over a decade and would like opportunities to pursue other endeavors. Their decision is mutually agreed upon and amicable.

This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes. Keys' company, AK Worldwide, will now have responsibility and oversight for Alicia's touring, endorsements, sponsorships, licensing, new business development, television and film ventures. MBK, a multifaceted entertainment company with a film, television, publishing and independent marketing divisions, will have the opportunity to focus on developing the careers of new, young talented artists. The company will also delve deeper into the gospel music format with their newly formed Glory to Glory Records."

There is speculation that the move is a result of less than stellar sales for "The Element Of Freedom". The CD has sold 1.4 million copies which is less than half of "As I Am".

MARY J. BLIGE Sued For Copyright Infringement
Wavee - A Rewarding Auction and a Shopping Experience

Mary J. Blige and the production team "The Clutch" are at the center of a copyright dispute involving the single "Take Me As I Am" from the album "The Breakthrough."

Utah Songwriters Jay Ballard and Kim Jones filed a lawsuit against Mary J. Blige and The Clutch in United States District Court in the Central District of California claiming Blige and The Clutch stole their song "Take Me As I Am" which was released in 1995 and used it for her hit 2005 song of the same name.

The song was supposedly written for Blige by a team of composers and lyricists. Ballard and Jones claim at least two members of that team once worked for a music company that received a copy of their song back in 1995.

They admit the songs don't necessarily sound the same but they say they discovered five similarities in the musical composition and twelve in the lyrics, which they argue were stolen.

Ballard and Jones are seeking an accounting for all singles and albums sold in all formats, royalties and an accounting of publishing income derived from using the song in advertisements.

HARVEY FUQUA, singer in doo-wop band the Moonglows, dies at 80

Harvey Fuqua, member of the Moonglows, died in Detroit on Tuesday (July 6) of coronary problems, the Motown Alumni Association said. He was 80.

Fuqua got his big break with the Moonglows, a group he formed in 1951. They were discovered by rock 'n' roll DJ Alan Freed, who got them signed to Chess Records. The Fuqua-penned tune "Sincerely" made the top 30 in 1955, and he sang lead on their best-known song, 1958's "Ten Commandments of Love."

Fuqua helped jumpstart the careers of such acts as Etta James, the Spinners, Junior Walker & the All Stars and Marvin Gaye.

Fuqua brought Gaye to the Moonglows in 1958, and later on to Motown. He co-produced Gaye's duets with Tammi Terrell "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Your Precious Love." Additionally they produced and co-wrote (with Vernon Bullock) the single "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You."

In the 1980s, Fuqua helped Gaye record his comeback record "Sexual Healing." Fuqua is credited as "production adviser" on the ensuing album "Midnight Love," the last released in Gaye's lifetime.

Fuqua created his own labels, Harvey and Tri-Phi Records, whose roster included Gaye and the Spinners. He also produced records for Etta James. Fuqua's roster was absorbed by Motown where he became the head of the artist development department and later married Berry Gordy's sister, Gwen.

He left the label in 1971, signed a production deal with RCA Records, discovered disco singer Sylvester and reunited the Moonglows. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

Snoop Dogg attempted to hire the entire European country of Liechtenstein as the backdrop for a new video.

Snoop is touring Europe and wanted to use Liechtenstein, which has a population of 35,000 residents and is the size of Washington D.C., but the deal could not be completed because the city's officials did not have enough time to prepare.

"We've had requests for palaces and villages but never one to hire the whole country before," Liechtenstein property agent Karl Schwaerzler told The Daily Mirror. "It would have been possible but Snoop's people did not give us enough time."
