TYLER PERRY Gives Georgia Family A New Home

NEWNAN, Ga. — Movie mogul Tyler Perry delivered on a Christmas promise when he handed the keys of a new four-bedroom house to an 88-year-old woman who lost her rural Georgia home to a fire.

Perry delivered on a Christmas promise when he handed the keys of a new four-bedroom house to an 88-year-old woman who lost her rural Georgia home to a fire.

Rosa Lee Ransby and her seven grand- and great-grandchildren lost their home a week before Christmas.

Perry saw the story on a local television newscast and decided to rebuild the house. He also fully furnished it.

More than 20 family members attended ceremony in rural Coweta County on Friday.

Perry says he wanted to do something for Ransby when he found out the family didn't have any way to rebuild. He says the main thing was getting her enough space for the children and for them to have room to play.

Jay-Z

The New Jersey Nets were hit with a hefty $50,000 fine following minority owner Jay-Z's impromptu visit to the locker room of Final Four squad the Kentucky Wildcats last month.

The expensive slap on the wrist from NBA officials was due in part to a ruling set in stone by the league that professional team personnel must avoid any contact with collegiate athletes that are not yet draft-eligible. NBA spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the fine Friday (April 8) before the Nets entered a contest with nearby rival squad the New York Knicks at New Jersey's Prudential Center.

CBSSports.com broke the initial news of the infraction and the NBA's investigation as video surfaced of Jay-Z congratulating Kentucky team members at the Prudential Center after the squad clinched a Final Four berth by defeating the North Carolina Tarheels.

The video reportedly showed no evidence of foul play or tampering, as the players were clearly soaking up the experience of meeting one of hip-hop's most successful stars. Caught up in the revelry of the moment, it may have slipped the mogul's mind that he was in violation of the league's very strict rule by going in the locker room and greeting the players after their big win.

New Jersey Nets officials expected the fine, surely a drop in the bucket for billionaire Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov, who began his takeover of the team in 2009 with the NBA, approving the sale in 2010 — giving Mr. Prohorov an 80 percent majority stake of ownership of the ball club.

Will and Jaden Smith

Will Smith will co-star with his son Jaden Smith in a futuristic sci-fi adventure, as yet untitled. Will Smith's own production company, Overbrook Entertainment, will produce the film in partnership with M. Night Shyamalan and it will be released through Columbia pictures.

Overbrook Entertainment was started by Will between 1997 and 1999 and is based in Beverly Hills. Overbrook's co-founders, Ken Stovitz and James Lassiter will also be involved in the film's production.

It's an unusual and unique arrangement for Shyamalan, who always likes to maintain complete control over the production of any movie he's involved with. Shyamalan said, "The chance to make a scary science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project."

Not many details have been released about the film's plot, but it's rumored to resemble a cross between Smith's I Am Legend (2007) and The Road (2009), which starred Viggo Mortensen. It will be set 1000 years in the future and chronicles a young boy's attempts to find and rescue his estranged father on an abandoned planet Earth, after their ship crashes.

Doug Belgrade, president of Columbia Pictures said, "Night is an outstanding filmmaker who has a tremendous vision for this science-fiction adventure story, and we couldn't be more excited to be working again with Jaden after our experiences on The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) and The Karate Kid (2010). We're thrilled to have the two of them together on this project."
