Morgan Creek Productions and Skee.TV/Karmaloop.TV are excited to announce the online casting call for the highly anticipated motion picture "Tupac," based on the life of the legendary icon Tupac Shakur, directed by Antoine Fuqua.
The casting call begins on Friday, March 18 and allows individuals who exemplify Tupac to upload their video audition to http://www.InSearchOfTupac.com. Fans and entrants are encouraged to check the website often, as important announcements and additional opportunities will be unveiled during the course of the month-long audition.
"We are excited to partner with Morgan Creek on this innovative casting call," said Scott "DJ Skee" Keeney, founder of Skee.TV. "This audition process is a great example of utilizing today's ever-evolving technology to reach fans and actors around the world to pay homage to a hip-hop legend."
"Tupac" chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip hop artist and actor, as well as his imprisonment and prolific, controversial time at Death Row Records, where he was steeped in the East Coast /West Coast rap war. "Tupac" will be directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Tears of the Sun," "Brooklyn's Finest"). The film will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson and LT Hutton, and executive produced by Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur. The screenplay was written by Stephen J. Rivele, Christopher Wilkinson and Steve Bagatourian. Universal Pictures distributes in the United States and co-distributes with Morgan Creek International overseas.
"We're looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role," says producer David Robinson. "At this point, we're more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality."
Over the course of the campaign, www.InSearchOfTupac.com will feature rare video footage and exclusive interviews from Tupac Shakur's life as seen on the official website http://www.2pac.com.

As you know, L.A. Reid recently was announced as a judge for Simon Cowell's upcoming talent show, 'X Factor.' Here's his goodbye letter to his staff at Island Def Jam. The bigger question is who will replace him?
"Great leaders are almost always great simplifiers, who can cut through argument, debate and doubt, to offer a solution everybody can understand."
To my Island Def Jam family:
After much consideration, I have decided to leave my position as Chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group.
I have always thrived on growth and the next great challenge, and I look forward with much enthusiasm to what the future holds.
I am extremely proud of our beautiful roster and all we have accomplished in my seven years with IDJ. We continue to have incredible success together with today's most phenomenal superstars - Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, The Killers, The-Dream, Chrisette Michele, Jeezy and Ludacris to name a few.
I want to thank all of you for your amazing contributions.
With Warm Regards -

Marc Ecko's personal and nationwide campaign to end paddling in U.S. schools. Yes, paddling. It's called Unlimited Justice.
In the United States, citizens, soldiers and prisoners are protected from being physically punished, beaten or abused. But, you know who aren't? Students. That's right, twenty (20) states in America still allow the paddling of students, otherwise known as Corporal Punishment! To put that in perspective, over 200,000 students are left victims of violence from their teachers or administrators... 200,000. What is Corporal Punishment? Marc Ecko breaks it down here:
Did you know that "Every 23 seconds in this country, a public school student is beaten in their classroom by an educator"?
