1 critically injured in shooting on near south side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS - A person was critically injured in a shooting on the near south side of Indianapolis Saturday evening.




According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1200 block of East Kelly Street - which is located just off of Shelby Street near Interstate 65 - around 5:20 p.m. to investigate a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they located a victim with injuries consistent gunshot wounds.




IMPD reported that the victim is currently in critical condition.




It is currently unclear if police have identified or detained any suspects or persons of interest at this point in their investigation of the shooting. As of this article's publication, no additional information on the shooting or the circumstances that led to it had been made avaialable.
