1 dead after car strikes tree on Indy's east side

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis metro police are investigating a fatal crash on the city's east side on Friday night.




According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, officers responded around 4:22 p.m. to a call of a personal injury accident on N Bolton Avenue and E. 30th Street.




Upon arrival, police found that at least one vehicle had struck a tree. Indianapolis Emergency Services arrived and took the driver to a local hospital in critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.




IMPD is currently investigating the cause of the crash. As of this article's publication, no additional information has been made available.
