1 injured, multiple others displaced during apartment fire on north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS - A man was injured and multiple people were displaced during an apartment fire on the north side of Indianapolis Friday night.
According to a Facebook post from the Indianapolis Fire Department, units responded to the 9300 block of Racquet Ball Way - which is located just off Ditch Road - around 7:56 p.m. When crews arrived at the scene, they located heavy smoke and fire pushing from an apartment complex.

Firefighters also came into contact with an injured man who was standing outside the apartment complex when they arrived. First responders later transported the man from the scene to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
IFD confirmed that its crews brought the blaze under control in 25 minutes. Firefighters also reported that seven adults and one juvenile were displaced during the fire.
According to IFD, three animals died in the fire. Investigators are still working to determine exactly what caused the fire.
