FRANKFORT, Ind. - A juvenile was critically injured in a crash in Frankfort on Saturday.
According to a Frankfort Police Department Facebook post, officers were were called to the intersection of McKinley and Short Myrtle Avenues around 10:22 a.m. to investigate a crash. When police arrived at the scene, they located a crash involving a bicycle and a car.
Upon further investigation, FPD determined the bicyclist - a 10-year-old boy - was travelling south out of an alley before he was struck by the driver of the car involved in the crash. The driver of the car was travelling westbound before the crash happened.
Per FPD, the juvenile bicyclist was airlifted to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis after the crash. FPD reported that the juvenile is currently in critical condition.
The driver who struck the juvenile submitted to alcohol and drug tests. FPD indicated that its investigation of the crash is still active.
