12-year-old, 3 other juveniles arrested after armed carjacking on Indy's west side
INDIANAPOLIS -- Four juveniles have been arrested for their alleged roles in an armed carjacking on Indy's west side Tuesday night.
According to a public police report filed by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called around 7:27 p.m. to the 3700 block of Hyannis Port Drive after receiving reports that an armed carjacking occurred in the area.
The report documents that four juveniles are now facing multiple felony counts following the incident. One of the suspects, identified in the police report as a 13-year-old male, is facing five felony counts. These include:
- Motor Vehicle used in a Crime (Level 6 Felony)
- Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony)
- Pointing a loaded Firearm (Level 6 Felony)
- Armed Robbery (Level 3 Felony)
A 12-year-old male and a 17-year-old female are also facing the following preliminary charges:
- Dangerous Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (Class A misdemeanor)
- Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (Level 6 Felony)
- Motor Vehicle used in Crime (Level 6 Felony).
Lastly, a 15-year-old male is facing the same charges and one additional count of criminal recklessness. No injuries were reported in the report. As of this article's publication, no other information was immediately available.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision in this case.
