2 arrested after police chase, crash on Indy's east side


INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after two people were arrested after a police chase ended in a crash on Indy's east side Saturday night.




According to a police report, just after 6:30 p.m., authorities with the Beech Grove Police Department tried to stop a car near South Sherman Drive and East Southern Avenue, but the car took off.




The car continued north on Sherman Drive before it crashed near East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive. Police arrested an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old as a result.




The 20-year-old faces numerous charges including: resisting law-enforcement, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and more.




A 14-year-old, 16-year-old, and two 15-year-olds were listed as passengers, and two other people were listed as victims.




The police report also says police found several guns, ammunition, and drugs in the car.




No additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
