2 hurt, 1 critical, in shooting on Indy's East side

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a female and critically injured a male early Friday morning.




According to IMPD, around 12:25 a.m., officers received a report of a person shot in the 4200 block of E Washington Street.




When officers arrived they located an adult female on the north side of the street with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.




While officers were canvassing the area they located a blood trail that was not from the victim. Officers followed that trail to a nearby alley and found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The male was taken to the hospital in critical condition.




IMPD say that a gun was found near the male, but it is unknown if that male is a suspect at this time.




Police were searching for surveillance video from nearby homes and asked anyone with information to contact IMPD or call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).
