INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after two women were injured in a shooting in downtown Indianapolis Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of East Market Street & North Delaware Street on the report of shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a woman with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
A short time later, officers located a second woman in the area, who was grazed by a bullet during the incident. She was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
No additional information was provided. The incident remains under investigation.
