Watch for patchy fog this morning in spots, as the tropical air remains locked in across the state! Morning temperatures will hover in the 70s, as winds stay light from the southwest. Expect another bright start and heat to intensify quickly by late morning.
This afternoon will be much like the previous days, with highs swiftly reaching the lower 90s before storms pop off in the daytime heating. Expect a few storms to produce heavy downpours, some lightning and a strong wind gust or two. Again, not everyone gets the rain but the added clouds will help temper the heat at times.
We will do this again on Friday...marking our seventh straight day of 90+ degree heat for Indianapolis and many surrounding counties!
Storm chances will be larger in coverage on Saturday but not all day. This will bring more clouds than sun for the state and likely break our 90° stretch for one day, as a more limited rain chance on Sunday should bring us back to the lower 90s again.
There are indications that by the upcoming workweek, a punch of drier air will return with a drop in humidity and "slightly" cooler air.
