ANDERSON, Ind. - Jeremy Hinson will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars after being found guilty of murdering his wife.
Hinson, 49, of Anderson was found guilty of the 2024 murder of his wife, Michela Hinson, in August. On Tuesday, Judge David Happe sentenced Hinson to 75 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.
Hinson's sentence included a 20-year felony firearm enhancement, which stacked on top of the 55-year murder sentence.
Previous stories detail how Madison County sheriff's deputies found Jeremy Hinson and Michela Hinson inside an SUV parked at Forrestville Cemetery in June 2024. Jeremy Hinson was covered in blood spatter and appeared to have overdosed. Michela Hinson, meanwhile, was dead- a result of seven close-range gunshots.
When Hinson was being held in jail, his sister visited him. A video recorded the encounter in which Hinson said, "Obviously, I wasn't thinking right. I don't know what happened to make me do that," according to court documents.
