Best of the week before heat and humidity return

Best of the week before heat and humidity return

Skies are completely clear and temperatures have cooled nicely in the overnight due to drier air, light winds and lowered dew points. This will mark the coolest morning in nearly two weeks, as lows are hovering in the middle to lower 60s at sunrise. Enjoy this refreshing start!

Sunshine will dominate the area today, as highs reach the upper 80s on light, west winds at 5-10 mph. The air will be warm but not muggy, compared the past week and a half. Sunglasses and sunscreen are a must.

Humidity will begin to creep back in tomorrow (Thursday), as heat bumps up too, but we will remain dry, as highs near 90°. More heat and a tropical feel are expected on Friday for the Fourth of July, as we celebrate our independence. A minimal storm chance remains for late Friday afternoon/early evening for a county or two, so be sure to check the radar!

A hot weekend is expected for Saturday and Sunday with both days reaching the lower 90s, as the heat indices likely push around 100°. A few storms are expected by late Sunday afternoon to wrap up the holiday.
