Singer D4vd, real name David Burke, has been charged with first-degree murder charges in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Monday that Burke will also face charges for lewd acts with a child and dismembering the body. He pleaded not guilty. Rivas was last seen alive visiting Burke's Hollywood Hills home on April 23, 2025. Her decomposed remains were discovered five months later in a bag inside the front trunk of Burke's Tesla at a tow yard. "There is physical evidence and there is forensic and digital evidence that we intend to present in court to prove these charges beyond a reasonable doubt," Hochman said. Authorities allege Burke had a sexual relationship with Rivas, who was 13 when she ran away from home. The charges include special circumstances including "lying in wait" and murder for financial gain, making the case eligible for death penalty.
