Britney Spears Announces That She "Will Never Perform In The US Again"

Britney Spears announced on Instagram on Friday (January 9) that she "will never perform in the US again" due to "extremely sensitive reasons." The 44-year-old pop star made the statement in a post featuring a classic photo of herself next to a white Yamaha piano. Spears did not provide additional details about her decision, but shared that she gifted "this piano to my son this year," while saying she hopes "to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, performing with my son... in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon." Her last US concert was in October 2018 during her Piece Of Me Tour. A planned 2019 Las Vegas residency was postponed and later canceled after her father Jamie experienced medical problems and Britney underwent mental health treatment. Spears was eventually released from her conservatorship in 2021 after years of legal battles over the arrangement that controlled her personal and financial decisions.
