Justin Bieber Confuses, Sabrina Carpenter Offends, Anyma Gets Cancelled At Coachella

Justin Bieber headlined Coachella's main stage on Saturday night in a 34-song performance that featured very little production, and unconventional elements like playing along with old YouTube videos of himself. The set heavily favored tracks from his 2025 albums Swag and Swag II, with classic hit "Baby" not appearing until 50 minutes into the show. Between songs, Bieber stayed glued to his laptop screen, claiming he was responding to real-time online chat feedback. Highlights included guest appearances by Kid Laroi and Tems, plus an extended segment of Bieber scrolling through viral YouTube videos, including "Deez Nutz" and "Double Rainbow."
Sabrina Carpenter issued an apology after mistaking a Zaghrouta, a celebratory Arabic chant, for yodeling during her Friday night Coachella headlining set. During her performance, an audience member voiced the traditional chant, prompting Carpenter to say "I think I heard someone yodel. Is that what you're doing? I don't like it." When the attendee explained "It's my culture," Carpenter responded "That's your culture, is yodeling?" After learning it was "a call of celebration," Carpenter replied "Is this Burning Man? What's going on? This is weird." The interaction sparked backlash on social media, with critics calling her response insensitive and Islamophobic. Carpenter apologized on X Saturday, writing "my apologies i didn't see this person with my eyes and couldn't hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. could have handled it better! now i know what a Zaghrouta is!"

Anyma's late-night Coachella set was canceled Friday due to strong wind conditions affecting his stage setup. The EDM artist was scheduled to perform at midnight on the main stage, following Sabrina Carpenter's headlining set. Festival organizers announced the cancellation around 12:15 a.m., citing safety concerns. "Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma's stage build, he is unable to perform," organizers and Anyma stated on social media. "Coachella & Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority." Anyma apologized to fans, saying "We've done everything in our control to build the show I've worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first."
