Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl revealed that the band has finished recording their new album during a sold-out performance at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, Tasmania on Saturday night (January 24). "We might have a whole new record of f***ing songs that we just finished the other day," Grohl told the audience, marking the first public confirmation of a follow-up to 2023's Grammy-nominated But Here We Are. The nearly three-hour show was the band's first Tasmanian performance in over a decade and their only Australian date on this visit. Grohl also hinted at a quick return to Australia, telling fans "This won't be the last time you see us. We'll be back here sooner than you think... and it's before my next birthday." Since Grohl's birthday falls on January 14, this suggests a possible return before the end of 2026. Foo Fighters next scheduled show is headlining Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach on May 8.
