John Mellencamp Announces 2026 'Dancing Words Tour' Featuring His Greatest Hits

On Wednesday (Jan. 14), John Mellencamp announced that he is embarking on his Dancing Words Tour - The Greatest Hits across 19 US cities this summer. The tour begins July 10th in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and includes stops in Kansas City, Cincinnati, Tampa, Houston, and Phoenix before concluding August 12th at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Artist pre-sale starts Wednesday (Jan. 21st), with general on-sales beginning Friday (Jan. 23rd). The setlist will feature "music that defined a generation," including classic Mellencamp hits like "Pink Houses," "Jack and Diane," "Small Town," "Hurts So Good," and "Authority Song." The 74-year-old musician will also perform tracks not heard live in over ten years like "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.," "I Need a Lover," and "Wild Nights." Mellencamp's latest release was Orpheus Descending in 2023, marking the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's twenty-fifth studio album.
