Megan Thee Stallion To Star In Broadway Production Of 'Moulin Rouge'

Megan Thee Stallion will take the Broadway stage to portray Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical from March 24 through May 17. The role of the Moulin Rouge's owner and MC was originated by Tony winner Danny Burstein and was previously played by stars like Tituss Burgess, Boy George, and Wayne Brady. The Grammy-winning rapper will be the first woman to play the character previously named Harold Zidler, and she will perform in all scheduled shows except May 2. "I've always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I'm excited to embrace," Megan said in a statement to The New York Times. Lead producer Carmen Pavlovic stated "We want our show to go out with a spectacular bang, and Megan is the force of nature to lead us there." The musical will end its Broadway run July 26, with Megan's casting likely to boost final ticket sales before closing.
