No Doubt Guitarist Tom Dumont Reveals Early Onset Parkinson's Diagnosis

No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont announced Saturday he has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease, less than a month before the band's Las Vegas Sphere residency begins on May 6th. In a social media video, Dumont said he experienced symptoms years ago and underwent extensive testing with doctors and neurologists before receiving his diagnosis. "It's been a struggle, it's a struggle every day," the guitarist who joined No Doubt in 1988 stated. Despite his condition, Dumont confirmed he will perform at the upcoming shows. "The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar. I've been doing really well," he said. Dumont hopes sharing his story will reduce stigma while raising awareness for prevention and research. Bandmates showed support, with drummer Adrian Young calling him "my hero" and bassist Tony Kanal expressing love "beyond words."
