Prince's Estate Releases Previously Unreleased 1991 Single "With This Tear"

A previously unreleased Prince recording titled "With This Tear" has emerged from the late artist's vault. The piano-driven ballad was composed, produced, and performed entirely by Prince at Paisley Park in November 1991. Grammy-nominated engineer Chris James handled the new mixing and mastering. The single represents the first release in a series of vault recordings leading to a complete album, according to Prince's estate. The track debuted one day before the 10th anniversary of Prince's death and commemorative events at Paisley Park near Minneapolis. Prince originally wrote the song for Celine Dion, who recorded her own version for her 1992 self-titled album. A June celebration will honor Prince's legacy with performances by former band members, Chaka Khan, Morris Day, Tevin Campbell, Sounds of Blackness, Cassandra O'Neal, and Bobby Z at Paisley Park.
