Brown County declares emergency county-wide disaster due to flooding, weather
BROWN COUNTY, Ind. - Brown County Indiana Emergency Management declared a local, county-wide disaster emergency on Saturday, citing that the county "has been impacted by or is immediately threatened by excessive rain, wind damage, downed power lines and trees, as well as life safety issues."
According to Brown County EM, flooding, severe storms and high winds have also degraded the area's roads and created a high possibility for increased power outages across the county.
The disaster emergency will remain in effect until Friday, April 11. Per Brown County EM, the declaration ensures community safety, supports an ongoing response to weather-related disasters and will allow for assistance from outside Brown County if necessary.
More information can be found on Brown County EM's website or via their Facebook page.
