INDIANAPOLIS - Bullets flew into a far east side home Sunday night-and neighbors said it isn't the first time it's happened.
Officers were called to a subdivision near 30th and German Church Road around 6 p.m. Sunday after gunfire hit homes in the area.
The Chavez family told FOX59/CBS4 that bullets ended up being lodged into several walls in their home. Some of them went into a little girl's bedroom.
Police reports show a similar thing happened last year.
The family said a nearby landowner uses a field for shooting practice.
"If you going to have a place to shoot, make it safe," said homeowner Luis Chavez. "Go to a shooting range. Not in the open. I don't care if it's your land. Something needs to be done. It could have been worse."
Chavez said multiple homes in the neighborhood were hit. We're reached out to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department for more information.
