INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after a child was injured in a shooting at a party on Indy's southeast side Friday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 10 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Zwingley Street on the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located a young boy with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Riley Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Police said there was a party happening when the shooting occurred. Investigators believe a firearm was accidentally discharged.
Investigators are still looking into the incident as no arrests have been made.
