Citizens Energy reports water main break on west side of Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS -- Crews with Citizens Energy are currently responding to a water main break on the west side of Indianapolis.
According to officials with Citizens Energy, the water main break occurred on Thursday morning near the intersection of Morris Street and Lynhurst Drive.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a post on social media that the intersection of Lynhurst and Morris is expected to be closed "for most of the day" because of the main break, encouraging drivers to find alternate routes.
"Crews will work continuously to isolate the issue and make the repair, after which they will work to reopen the roadway and complete any clean-up," officials with Citizens Energy said in a statement to FOX59/CBS4. "We are working to map the number of customers who may be impacted by the break, and we will provide further updates on this situation as it develops."
