INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts signed Tyler Warren, their first-round pick in the NFL Draft, along with six other members of the 2025 draft class.
Warren is the do-it-all tight end many analysts pegged as the best TE option in the draft. He ended up with the Colts after the Chicago Bears took Michigan's Colston Loveland with the tenth overall selection.
The Colts anticipate Warren injecting life into their passing game. He had 104 catches for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns last season for Penn State.
While terms of the deal were not disclosed, the NFL has a rookie salary scale. According to OverTheCap.com, Warren's contract would be for $20.96 million with an $11.884 million signing bonus and a $3.811,025 cap hit.
The Colts also signed six other players drafted last month:
- CB Justin Walley
- OT Jalen Travis
- RB DJ Giddens
- QB Riley Leonard
- DT Tim Smith
- LB Justin Wohler
All the contracts are for four years. Because he's a first-round pick, Warren's contract is guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option.
Only edge rusher JT Tuimoloau, the team's second-round pick out of Ohio State, remains unsigned as of Friday morning.
