INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Colts' worst fears have been realized.
Spencer Shrader suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's 40-6 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
After the game, coach Shane Steichen admitted, "It doesn't look good.''
Further medical testing revealed the seriousness of the injury.
Shrader, who was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month last week, injured his right knee when Raiders' safety Tristin McCollum dove into his leg on a second-quarter PAT kick. McCollum was penalized for roughing the kicker on the play.
The Colts obviously are in the market for a kicker and will explore free-agent options in the next few days. They host the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
