Construction worker struck, killed by school bus near Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind. - A construction worker has been struck and killed by a school bus, occupied by children, near Kokomo.




According to Indiana State Police, the collision occurred Monday afternoon on State Road 22 near County Road 400 East, just east of the US 31 exit for State Road 22 and Gas City.




Initial reports indicated the incident involved a school bus and a pedestrian. State police later confirmed that a school bus struck a construction worker as part of this incident and that children were aboard the bus at the time of the collision.




The school bus driver did stay on scene and is cooperating.




At this time, no further details have been released as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
