Court docs: Man drove from Canada to Indiana to meet underage girl for sex

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. - A 22-year-old man traveled from Canada to Indiana to have sex with an underage girl after the two met online, police say.




Mahdi Hosseini is charged with two counts of child molesting (Level 1 felony), one count of promotion of sexual trafficking of a minor (Level 3 felony) and one count of child solicitation (Level 4 felony).




Online records indicated Hosseini was booked into the Hendricks County Jail on Aug. 30.




According to the probable cause affidavit, he arrived in central Indiana on Aug. 28 and stayed at a hotel in Avon. He initially met the juvenile on Discord, an online messaging service, and the two exchanged lewd messages and photos. Their first online interaction was in April.




They eventually agreed to meet in person.




According to court documents, Hosseini went to a garage sale hosted by the girl's mother and bought some items on Aug. 30. He posed as the father of one of the girl's friends.




Hosseini told the girl's mother he was taking his daughter to a museum and wanted to know if the girl could come along. The girl's mother agreed, and the girl left with Hosseini.




Something about it didn't sit right with the girl's mother. She noticed Hosseini's car had Canadian plates and recalled her daughter had been chatting on Discord with someone from Canada.

When they returned, the girl's mother arranged for the three of them to go to church together. The mother drove her daughter, with Hosseini trailing behind them in his car. On the way, the daughter told her mother she'd been to Hosseini's hotel room, although she didn't disclose any sexual activity.




The mother called the police, and officers met them at the church, where they handcuffed Hosseini and took him in for an interview.




Hosseini immediately requested a lawyer, bringing an end to the interview.




The girl and Hosseini reportedly had sex multiple times at the hotel, according to court documents.




During a forensic examination of the girl's phone, investigators uncovered sexually explicit messages between the two on Discord. In one of the messages, Hosseini spelled his last name for her. They also exchanged lewd photos.




They discussed what time the girl got home from school and talked about a plan to have Hosseini pose as the father of one of the girl's friends so her mother wouldn't get suspicious.




During an interview, the girl told police Hosseini was aware she was underage and she knew he was 22 years old. She said he arrived in town from Canada, and they hung out on Thursday. They met again on Friday, when they had sex.




She also told police she hung out with Hosseini again on Saturday before he was arrested.




According to jail records, Hosseini is being held without bail.
