
Powerful storms are to sweep across the state Wednesday afternoon. Damaging wind gusts may be wide spread along with a few tornadoes
2PM UPDATE: A powerful, arcing line of thunderstorms are approaching the IL/IN state line. ENE moving storms at 40mph will sweep into Indy & surrounding counties roughly 4pm. Damaging winds are likely in the strongest storms/few tornadoes possible. TORNADO WATCH in effect until 8pm.
These are dangerous storms and there is nothing holding them back at this time. The environment is rich with very high humidity and energy supporting storms eastward movement.
Brace for the storms from early afternoon through 6/7pm doing the most potential damage. Additional storms may follow after 8pm but with a decrease in intensity.
Localized heavy rainfall will also potentially produce flash flooding. Stay alert and review your severe weather plans. be sure to charge wireless devices ahead of these storms. We will be on the air starting at 4pm. Be sure to check with me on-air for LIVE updates.
