Carly Pearce released her new single, "Church Girl," on Friday (January 23), which addresses her complex relationship with faith and religion. The 35-year-old country star says of the inspiration behind the song, "I'm a girl who grew up in church, I grew up with faith being a very big part of my life, it still is a very big part of my life, but I think there are a lot of double standards with faith." Pearce says she has "felt as a Christian woman a lot of shame and guilt and judgment and confusion" after living personal struggles publicly. She explains the song's message: "I wish I could go back and tell her, 'You're okay, you're okay, and we're all on a journey.'" The track follows her November single, "Dream Come True," which debuted at No. 40 on the Country Airplay chart. Both songs will be featured on Pearce's fifth studio album, which arrives later in 2026.
