Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey" Makes History As First Country Song To Earn Double Diamond Sta

Chris Stapleton achieved a historic milestone on Monday (January 12) when the RIAA certified "Tennessee Whiskey" as Double Diamond, marking over 20 million units sold and making it the first country song to reach this status. RIAA chairman/CEO Mitch Glazier stated: "Chris Stapleton's undeniable vocal grit and storytelling have connected deeply - driving chart successes, earning major awards and most importantly, resonating with fans. RIAA is proud to celebrate him alongside MCA as 'Tennessee Whiskey' today makes history, becoming the first country single ever to earn a Double Diamond certification with 20 million units in the U.S. alone." The Dean Dillon/Linda Hargrove-written track debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2015, peaking at No. 20 following Stapleton's breakthrough CMA Awards performance with Justin Timberlake. Stapleton is set to continue his All-American Road Show tour with a series of new U.S. stadium shows scheduled through fall 2026.
