HARDY Shares Good Memories Of His "Fun" Previous Job As A Gravedigger

HARDY discussed his pre-fame job as a gravedigger in Philadelphia, Mississippi during a new episode of State Farm's Neighborhood Beats with host Jimmy Fallon. The 35-year-old country star said that being a gravedigger "was really fun," while adding that "other than this job, it was the most fun I've ever had as a worker." The singer, born Michael Wilson Hardy, explained that the position combined cemetery duties with animal control in their small town, noting "in the summer, when it would get really hot and all of the grass would die, we'd just chase stray dogs around." HARDY calls himself "the hillbilly from the real Philly," and he began his Nashville music career by co-writing with Florida Georgia Line. His 2020 breakout solo hit, "One Beer," reached No. 1 on US Country Airplay and earned 4x-platinum certification. He and wife Caleigh welcomed their daughter Rosie in March 2023.
