Harper Grace Reveals She Faked Engagement To Promote Her New Song

Harper Grace admits that she staged a fake engagement on social media to promote her new single, "If Daddy Says No." The 24-year-old country singer posted Instagram photos on January 28 showing herself with a diamond ring, captioning it with engagement hints and the song's release date. Fans congratulated her, believing the news was real. Grace revealed the hoax on February 15, posting "plot twist: the only thing we committed to was the song." In a Country Now interview, Grace explained: "Some people are probably going to think I'm crazy for faking my own engagement. But honestly, I got so into the artistic take on it because the song means so much to me." The track reflects her real experience of losing a relationship because her father wouldn't approve their marriage. Grace officially released "If Daddy Says No" on Feb. 27, along with a music video by Collective Films. She promises fans that her next engagement announcement will be genuine.
