Hayden Coffman Shares Love Letter To His Wife In New Song "Talk To Texas"

With his new single "Talk To Texas," Hayden Coffman delivers a love song pulled straight from real life, telling the story of a man asking the Lone Star State to loosen its grip on the woman he loves.

Inspired by his own relationship, "Talk To Texas" tells the story of convincing his Texas-born wife to trade her home state for a new life in Nashville. The song captures the playful yet heartfelt challenge of asking someone to leave behind the place that shaped them, turning that moment into a charming plea directed at the Lone Star State itself.

"I wrote 'Talk To Texas' right when I moved to Nashville, about 6 years ago, for my now wife Alexis Coffman. When we first started dating, she lived in Texas and I lived in Tennessee," shares Coffman. "We did love distance for 8 months, until I finally convinced her to move to Tennessee. If you know a Texan, you know they love Texas more than anything and it's very hard to get them to leave. So, I wrote this song, speaking as if I had the chance to talk to the state of Texas. I'm asking him to let her go and come to Tennessee. From the day I wrote the song, she always loved it. I can't wait to share it with the world."

Written by Coffman alongside Drake Freeman, who has contributed to more than 100 million streams, including Bailey Zimmerman's chart-topping hit "Rock and A Hard Place," the track highlights Coffman's genuine emotion and natural storytelling ability. Blending soul-bearing lyricism with a soaring country melody, "Talk To Texas" captures the push and pull between love, home, and new beginnings.

Coffman continues to prove his staying power with music rooted in authenticity and connection. Following a standout performance at CMA Fest 2025 in Nashville, he further solidified his reputation as a compelling live act. His 2024 album, Love And A Heartbreak, showcased his range as both a vocalist and songwriter, spanning rowdy fan favorites like "Woke Up Drunk (Again)" to stripped-back ballads such as "Fightin' Words." Closing out 2025, Coffman earned his first RIAA Gold certification with "Better Off," marking a major career milestone.

Over the past few years, Coffman has landed on the covers of Spotify's Fresh Finds Country and Next From Nashville playlists, along with Amazon Music's Breakthrough Country and TIDAL's Country Rising. In 2023, he emerged as one of the fastest-growing independent country artists in the U.S., breaking into the Top 3 on Spotify and Top 5 on YouTube while earning multiple Top 10 iTunes releases. Since his breakout single "Where's The Whiskey" in November 2022, along with collaborations featuring Chase Matthew and Trey Lewis, Coffman has amassed more than 280 million total streams and 58 million YouTube views. He also launched his Take The Lonely Tour with a sold-out show at Nashville's iconic Nashville Palace, underscoring the momentum behind his rapidly rising career.

With "Talk To Texas," Coffman delivers a vulnerable song about love, sacrifice, and choosing forever over familiarity. The single is available now on all streaming platforms.
