Kacey Musgraves Drops New Single, "Dry Spell," From Forthcoming Studio Album

Kacey Musgraves released her new single, "Dry Spell," on Wednesday (March 11th), ahead of announcing her seventh studio album - rumored to be called Middle of Nowhere - coming later this year via Lost Highway. The country star promoted the track with billboards reading "dry spell? Call for a real good time" across multiple cities, and featured the same images in an Instagram post captioned "Welcome to the Middle of Nowhere. ??" A teaser video captures Musgraves walking down the street while a snippet of the new song plays in the background. The upcoming album follows 2024's Deeper Well, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Country Albums. The project's fourth single, "The Architect," won the Grammy for Best Country Song, while the record was nominated for Best Country Album. Musgraves returned to Lost Highway in 2023, the label that originally signed her in 2011.
