Hayden Coffman Dives Into Toxic Love and Temptation on New Single "Hate That I Love It"

Breakout country artist Hayden Coffman returns with "Hate That I Love It," out everywhere now. Crafted alongside his trusted circle of longtime collaborators, the track showcases Coffman's embrace of unfiltered honesty and the emotional tension at the heart of the story.
"I wrote this song with a couple of buddies I've made hundreds of songs with. We wanted something simple and relatable. 'Hate That I Love It' is about all the things you know aren't good for you but you just can't put down," Coffman shares. "At the heart of it, it's really about that one person you can never quit, even when you know the relationship is toxic. Yeah, we all love a little whiskey and a smoke now and then, even though they're not 'good' for us. That same push and pull inspired this song. I love how straightforward it is and how naturally it came together when we wrote and recorded it."
Built on brooding production and an intimate, heartbeat-like groove, "Hate That I Love It" showcases Coffman's signature blend of grit, vulnerability, and melodic storytelling. His vocals sit front and center, carrying a soft rasp that amplifies every conflicted word as he sings through the tension of wanting to let go, but never quite being able to.
A Knoxville native, Coffman has cemented himself as one of country music's most promising independent acts. His catalog has earned over 160 million global streams and 36 million YouTube views, landing placements on marquee playlists including Spotify's Fresh Finds Country and Next From Nashville, Amazon's Breakthrough Country, and TIDAL's Country Rising.
Fresh off a buzzworthy performance at CMA Fest 2025 in Nashville, Coffman continues to solidify his staying power with music rooted in connection and authenticity. His 2024 album Love And A Heartbreak revealed his breadth as both a vocalist and songwriter, from rowdy, fan-favorite anthems like "Woke Up Drunk (Again)" to stripped-back ballads including "Fightin' Words." His most recent single, "Damn Sure Does," extended that upward trajectory, balancing heartfelt vulnerability with undeniable energy.
