Thomas Rhett Reveals He Had To Get Hearing Aids Due To Partial Hearing Loss

Thomas Rhett revealed that he's experiencing hearing loss in one ear during Monday's episode of That Sounds Fun podcast with host Annie F. Downs. "I'm kind of going deaf in this ear a little bit," the 35-year-old country star disclosed. "I had to go get hearing aids as a 35-year-old man." Rhett wore the devices for about a week but found the normal sounds of homelife overwhelming. "I can't think straight. It's so loud," he told his wife Lauren Akins, who jokingly responded, "Babe, welcome." The Grammy-nominated artist and Akins, 36, are expecting their fifth child in March. They share daughters Willa Gray, 10, Ada James, 8, Lennon Love, 6, and Lillie Carolina, 4. The couple announced the pregnancy in August 2025 and plan to wait until birth to learn the baby's gender, with Rhett sharing "There's not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that's one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to."
