Oklahoma Governor Declares July 8th As Official Toby Keith Day

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt honored the late country music legend Toby Keith by officially declaring July 8, 2026 as "Toby Keith Day" throughout the state. Stitt presented the written proclamation to Keith's daughter Krystal during an Oklahoma Film and Music Day event on April 7th at the state Capitol. Krystal performed the national anthem before accepting the honor on her father's behalf. The proclamation recognizes Keith for "rising from humble beginnings to become one of the most successful, influential, and recognizable country music artists in American history." Keith received additional recognition with the Special Director's Award at the 65th annual Western Heritage Awards on April 11th in Oklahoma City. Before the designated day arrives, UMe plans to release Keith's "35 Biggest Hits" on vinyl for the first time on May 22nd.
