Country's Rising Star, Waylon Wyatt, Releases New Single "Frostbite"

Today, singer, songwriter and musician Waylon Wyatt releases his latest single, "Frostbite," via Music Soup/Darkroom Records. Rooted in his signature acoustic sound, Waylon leans into themes of longing and heartache, resulting in one of his most vulnerable releases to date. The song is elevated by a rich palette of instrumentation, from fiddle and guitar to organ and more.
Driven by softly plucked guitar and gritty vocals, "Frostbite" captures the quiet chill of emotional distance and has quickly become a fan favorite. Waylon's live performances and acoustic teasers on social media drew thousands of views and fan requests for its release. Its defining lyric - "I've been yearning for some burning back in my life, but it seems to me to be more like frostbite" - distills the song's aching vulnerability and Waylon's knack for turning heartbreak into something universal.
Waylon says of the track: "To be honest I wrote this song coming out of a relationship when I was still in the early phases of longing for that person. Since it was one of the coldest months when me and said person had split, I found relating the status of what once was to the weather I was experiencing back home a pretty clever idea. The beauty of the song is that the conditions of the weather truly reflects the emotions I was feeling at that time, cold and bitter."
2025 has been a defining year for Waylon, solidifying his place as one of country's most exciting new voices and "rising country stars to know now" (GRAMMY.com). He is wrapping up his U.S. headline 35+ date "Out of the Blue" tour where along the way, he released "Pretty Little Liar" and "Wishbone".
Featuring raw vocals and stripped-down sound fusing gritty Red Dirt roots and barstool folk, the young native of Hackett, Ark., has amassed a strong following and big-time believers, built on a sturdy blue-collar style. Waylon kicked off the year with standout performances at Stagecoach, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, and FairWell Festival, before opening for Zach Bryan at London's Hyde Park. He completed his first ever Australian tour, performing to crowds in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. This upcoming spring, he heads to Europe for C2C Festival 2026 with dates in Berlin, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, and London. He's also set to support Sam Barber on select North American dates, bringing his signature storytelling and energy to stages across the country.
Waylon broke out in 2024 with his self-written and self-produced EP Til the Sun Goes Down, featuring the RIAA Gold-certified "Arkansas Diamond" and streaming hit "O.D." Earlier this year, he followed up with Out of the Blue EP, a rustic, stripped-down collection shaped by his growing country influences. The project includes "Smoke & Embers" (featuring Willow Avalon), a fan favorite on tour where Waylon invites a lucky audience member to join him on stage each night.
