Docs: Alexandria man charged after child molestation allegations resurface after 10+ years

ALEXANDRIA, Ind. -- An Alexandria man has been arrested on multiple counts of child molestation stemming from separate incidents around 2009 and 2017, respectively.




According to court documents recently filed in Madison County, Joseph Goode was officially charged with two counts of child molesting, one a Felony A and one a Felony C, that stem from an incident in November 2009. Goode was also charged with one count of child molesting, a Level 4 felony, that stems from an incident from October 2017.




According to court documents, investigators with the Madison County Sheriff's Department were assigned to a possible child molesting investigation involving multiple individuals who were reportedly molested by a man later identified as Goode.

The documents allege that Goode fondled multiple children under 14 between 2009 and 2011, as well as between 2017 and 2018.




During one particular incident, Goode reportedly touched a child inappropriately while they were watching Scooby Doo. The victim told law enforcement she was "confused about what was occurring" because of her age and asked him to "please stop, can we go back to watching our show, please?"




The victim told law enforcement that she did not remember how long the incident lasted and remembered going limp when she was groped.








In an interview with a second victim, she reportedly told law enforcement about at least three occasions between the ages of 6 and 8 when she was assaulted by Goode. In one specific case, the victim said that she woke up to Goode's hands down her pants.




The second victim said she was fearful that Goode would get violent with her if he realized she knew what was going on. She told law enforcement that the incident felt like it went on "forever."




Goode reportedly declined to provide a statement regarding the allegations, the documents read.




According to court documents, Goode's initial hearing occurred on Thursday, where court officials set a bond in the amount of $100,000. Goode's status of counsel hearing is scheduled for Sept. 22.
