Docs: Convicted Winchester molester preliminarily charged with touching teen relative inappropriatel
WINCHESTER, Ind. -- A Winchester man reportedly molested a teenage relative more than five times in a multi-year span.
According to court documents filed earlier this month in Randolph County, 56-year-old Frank Farrington was preliminarily charged with child molesting, a Level 1 felony. This comes after Farrington was convicted of child molesting in Jay County in 1999.
Late last month, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department was contacted by an officer with the Lynn Police Department regarding a reported incident at a Winchester home.
The documents stated that a 14-year-old disclosed to law enforcement that a relative, later identified as Farrington, touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions. In an interview with the teen, she stated that Farrington had molested her over the last few years.
In an interview with Farrington, he reportedly admitted to touching the teen multiple times in a sexual manner. Farrington said it happened more than five times and mainly occurred at the Winchester home. One time, Farrington told police that he touched her inappropriately in a Walmart parking lot while traveling for a volleyball game, the documents said.
"Farrington said that she was a beautiful girl and that he didn't know why he was attracted to her," the documents said. "He stated that he did it for the lust of the touch."
