Docs: Greenwood man posted nude photos, videos of ex-wife on Facebook

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Police have arrested a Greenwood man accused of posting nude photos and videos of his ex-wife online without her consent.




According to court documents, a 54-year-old man has been preliminarily charged with one count of distribution of an intimate image - a class A misdemeanor.




An investigation was launched on Dec. 31, 2024, when an officer with the Greenwood Police Department responded to a reported instance of harassment. The officer met and spoke with the victim, who revealed that her ex-husband had allegedly posted nude photos and videos of her on his personal Facebook account.




The woman stated that she did not have an active Facebook account and only found out that the images were reportedly circulating online when her daughter shared the screenshots that the Greenwood man had allegedly posted on his story.




Court documents show the woman told police that she never permitted the suspect to post this content and that she wasn't even aware they existed.




When officers confronted the Greenwood man about these allegations, he reportedly told them he had recently paid a visit to T-Mobile to acquire a new cell phone. He went on to explain that he believed he was sending the photos and videos to his Facebook Messenger so he could transfer them to his new phone.




The man denied ever uploading the content to his Facebook intentionally and maintained that he didn't know they had been posted on his Facebook story.




Online court records out of Johnson Superior Court 3 confirm that an arrest warrant was issued on May 1. At the time, the court directed the clerk to issue $5,000 cash bond and a no-contact order with the victim. Online records show that the suspect posted the cash bond on Tuesday.
