Docs: Indy mother tried to sex traffic infant daughter for $400

INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis mother faces a felony sex trafficking charge after police say she tried to collect $400 in exchange for a man being able to molest her infant daughter.




Morgan D. Stapp, 32, was officially charged last week in Marion County court with attempted child sexual trafficking - a level 2 felony. The Indy mother of seven was arrested on Tuesday at a home in the 2400 block of Union Street on the city's near south side.




The FBI began investigating Stapp last November after receiving a report from Snapchat about attempted sex trafficking on their app. The messages, sent by user "morgan-stapp," reportedly included three photos of Stapp's 7-month-old daughter.




"U can f**k her for 400$," one message read. "Half now rest after. I'll send my address. I do live alone, and her dad is not in the picture."




FBI agents interviewed Stapp on Nov. 11, 2024, and asked her about the alleged messages. Stapp reportedly told them her Snapchat had recently been "hacked" and that she no longer had access to her "morgan-stapp" account.




Stapp told agents she'd recently gotten an email saying her account was permanently banned due to "online commercial sex transactions." Stapp said she was a mother of seven children and expressed concern about losing photos of her kids she'd saved to her Snapchat account.




During an interview later that month with DCS, Stapp reportedly admitted to lying to the FBI agent about being kicked off her Snapchat account.




"I wanted the FBI to leave," she reportedly said.




Indianapolis metro police officers were contacted in December by the FBI looking for further help with the investigation. An IMPD detective was soon granted a search warrant of Stapp's account and found selfies of Stapp saved to Snapchat during the days after her FBI interview.




Detectives found that Stapp's account had sent over 7,000 messages on Snapchat during three days in November. Appearing 81 times was a message asking, "Would you be interested in buying my nudes so I can get baby diapers?" She also added over 400 accounts.




Police said that IP address records from the "morgan-stapp" account showed that all of these messages had been sent from an area near Stapp's home address. These messages were also sent after Stapp claimed she no longer had access to Snapchat.




Court documents officially charging Stapp with attempted child sex trafficking were filed on July 1, 2025, in Marion Superior Court 27. A warrant was then issued for her arrest.




Stapp was arrested Tuesday, July 8, by sheriff's deputies and booked into the Marion County Jail, where her bond has been set at $200,000. An initial hearing in her case is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday in front of Judge Peggy R. Hart.
