
INDIANAPOLIS - An Indianapolis teen was charged after he allegedly murdered a man on the north side, according to court documents.
Azriel Goines, 19, was charged with the following:
- Murder, a Felony
- Attempted Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 2 Felony
Officers were dispatched on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, at approximately 7:54 a.m. to the 7700 block of Kenworthy Drive at the Private Reserve Apartments on a report a vehicle crashing into an apartment building.
When officers arrived they found a black Audi A7 crashed into the building. The driver of the vehicle was in the drivers seat suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, 25-year-old Francisco Cruz Hernandez, was pronounced dead by medics at 8:08p.m.
Goines, along with at least 3 other individuals, allegedly attempted to rob Hernandez of his belongings, according to court documents. The reported attack was caught on a surveillance tape which captured multiple people in a "struggle" at the car, and later a shooting.
Goines was arrested on an unrelated domestic event. This is an active investigation.
